Thank you.

The above attempt is based on what appears to be a riddle or trick question which I asked the new leader of my country's opposition, "What is more important; the citizen or the state?"

No answer yet and I don't expect to get one, so am trying to answer it for myself.

Is this a case of comparing apples (principles) with pears(values)?Dominichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02619376332169090195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-281981346470598325.post-46168289092303131302014-02-10T06:14:08.272+10:002014-02-10T06:14:08.272+10:00Thank you so much for writing this article. You really helped to clarify the differences between values and principles and how these inform one's ethics. The question that you pose at the end struck a chord in me. It got me wondering how I could get my church to not be so divided politically, and I think doing a serious re-evaluation of our principles might just do the trick (are our views being informed by our standard of truth? Which in my church's case is supposed to be the Bible. anyways keep up the great work (never knew their was such a thing as a values specialist!)tati tatihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11149725777535942601noreply@blogger.com
